Security is a fast-growing field that has become one of the most sough-after career goals of many men and women. Because there are so many threats around us that may endanger our lives and/or our properties, some people have chosen to hire security guards to keep them safe and provide protection when needed.
In order to become a security guard, you have to go through training and satisfy all security guard licensing requirements before you can get a job.
In the United States, the security guard licensing requirements are not the same among the states, but they generally ask for the following requirements from all applicants:
Application can either be done online or via mail, depending on where you live.
You can apply online by logging on to the correct website of the agency or bureau in-charge in that particular state. Once everything has been processed and cleared, you will find out if you have been approved by visiting the site again. You can print out the approval notice from there and use it as a temporary license until the actual security guard license arrives in the mail in about two weeks.
If you opt to do your application the traditional way, you can mail your application form, fees and the other necessary documents to the agency or bureau in-charge in your state. All your submitted requirements will be checked and reviewed, and if you are cleared and approved, you will receive your security guard license in a couple of weeks.
